Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as Dreamville Records' first female artist with Dreamville Records by J. Cole. Her debut EP Pho, released which was released on 21 October 2016 was released through Dreamville Records. The singer began to earn recognition. Her first album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks on the internet in 2012, when she released her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. In 2014, she released more music via the Internet including Bound. On July 21 2015 she was featured on Omen's album Elephant Eyes with the track Sweat It Out. Later that year her music circulated throughout the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some references for Rihanna. On the 8th of December, it was revealed that she had contracted to Dreamville Records. The singer appeared on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. In October of 2016 she dropped her debut EP Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. The singer also performed on the tracks Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus along with Bas, her labelmates. Ari Lennox dropped her first single Whipped Cream on Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. The music video was followed by a video in September. In November, she dropped her singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November 2013 she released her debut album No One, and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made appearances as a guest on Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. The singer released the single as a way in order to announce her debut album Creed II on 26 February 2019. The track was made available with a video posted on YouTube 20 February 2019 has been viewed over 3 million times in the first 7 days. In December of 2018, she was a supporting act on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in conjunction with 6LACK.
